Cam’ron is making a return to the industry and I couldn’t be more excited, he’s currently finishing up his collaborative EP with A-Trak titled Federal Reserve. The EP will be mainly produced by the Fool’s Gold head-honcho and have a handful of guest verses alongside Killa Cam. This for me is one of the most anticipated releases of the year; two well respected artists in their own lane come together to create dope tunes. The project’s first single, “Humphrey,” was co-produced by Party Supplies, and with help from the pitched up vocals, booming drums, and chipper piano chords the instrumental reminds us of the old school mid-to-late 90′s Dipset, and it is simply amazing.
After releasing the debut single the two dropped a hilarious parody film trailer that MUST BE WATCHED. Soon after that they released the second unheard cut off Federal Reserve, “Dipshits” featuring a hook by fellow Dipset member Juelz Santana. Co-produced by the O.G. Just Blaze [you’ll hear his audio-branding-call within the first 30 seconds as a reminder], this instrumental comes in hot and doesn’t stop til the end; filled with huge drum samples, massive synthesizers and another overall feel good Dipset vibe this record again is pure gold. Juelz hook is straight and to the point while Cam’s verses are, as always, witty to say the least. The visuals are filled with cameos from Jim Jones, Chromeo, Oliver & more, along with multiple shots capturing the streets of Harlem. Cam’ron and A-Trak’s Federal Reserve is out real soon on Fool’s Gold, so stay tuned listen to “Humphrey” above, after watching the video for “Dipshits” below:
