Electric Guest

So it is pretty much a fact; anything Danger Mouse puts his hands on turns into pure musical gold. From Gnarls Barkley and the Gorillaz to The Shortwave Set and The Black Keys this guy is hella talented at everything when it comes to music. Don’t forget that he practically invented mashups as well with his Grey Album in 2004 (The Beatle‘s White Album Vs Jay-Z‘s Black Album). Anyways, meet Electric Guest a funky, soulful indie pop band that fuckin’ rules. Based out of Los Angles, California the four dudes, simply put, will make you want to dance your ass off; thumping bass lines, amazingly heartfelt vocals, trippy effects done to the instrumentation/ vocals and overall soulful funky vibes are the backbone to their sound. Electric Guest’s first single “This Head I Hold” has more of a poppy feel to it compared to the rest of their music, but with the awesome effects put on the vocals alongside the dope piano part, this song is ill. Listen to their debut album Mondo (produced by Danger Mouse) on Spotify for free, you will not regret it. Also, check out their music video for “This Head I Hold” below, and listen to “Awake” off the album below that, it is probably my favorite track off the album.
